#3826 Allen & Wheelock Four Barrel Pepperbox, 34cal

Description

#3826 Allen & Wheelock Four Barrel Pepperbox, 34cal percussion, very low serial number. (Assuming it is, in fact, a serial number and not simply a batch number!) Very scarce little “Gold Rush Era” weapon, as these were far, FAR fewer in production than the various six-shot versions of the several manufacturers of these early "revolvers" …plus, this one is in the best condition of the four or five 4-shooters that I’ve encountered in the last 45+ years. The barrel group has a plum patina with a minimum of pitting, frame does show some medium wear to the typically sparce factory engraving and the grips are about “Fine” with no deficits of mention. Markings are typically light on the hammer. Overall, this is a much above average specimen; about VG++/Fine. $995 SALE! $895
