#4986 Colt S/A “U.S. Cavalry” 7-1/2”x45COLT, 116XXX(1885)

Description

#4986 Colt S/A “U.S. Cavalry” 7-1/2”x45COLT, 116XXX(1885) serial range, D.F.C. inspected. This is a very, VERY fine mid-Indian Wars Cavalry complete with a near excellent 1881 Cavalry holster with 1896 six-rivit alteration, but I’m pretty sure that this has had some old restorations, the non-cartouched wood grips being the most noticeable. The blue looks to have had some “fogging” of blue and the faded casecolor is most likely a very old color restoration. The former owner suggested that this revolver MAY have been restored in the late 1970s or early 1980s by the premier restorer, Tommy Haas, Sr. If so, the grips must have been changed along the way, since Haas would NEVER have used such an incorrect looking set of grips! Regardless of who did the work, it is a VERY fine revolver and holster. If totally original, this set would easily be $20,000 ....and thus it is a great set and a real bargain at $6950. About “Fine” as described.

Price: $6,950.00
