#1528 Asa Waters Model 1836 Flintlock military pistol, 8-1/2” smoothbore barrel, 54caliber
Description
#1528 Asa Waters Model 1836 Flintlock military pistol, 8-1/2” smoothbore barrel, 54caliber, produced between 1836 to 1844 with a total of 41,000 made in all variations. This was the standard issue martial handgun issued during the Mexican War and the last flintlock pistol produced for the U.S. military. This one being dated 1837, and thus is one of the earliest dated of this model and very likely saw service in the entire Mexican War. The one deficit to this really NICE weapon (and it is a VERY cheap repair, probably under $10 total) is that the hammer screw is broken and will require removing the broken screw shaft from the tumbler and purchasing a repro screw from S&S Firearms or Dixie Gun Works. Very Fine metal and Fine wood with a strong cartouche, and a collector of martial U.S. handguns will search for quite a while to find a better example of this last model of the U.S. military flints. Fine to Ex.Fine. $2350.
Price: $2,350.00
