Description

#4831 Colt 1849 Rammerless Pocket Model, 3”x31-caliber, also called the “Wells Fargo” Model (…although there has never been any authentification that Wells Fargo Express ever bought such a gun.) Serial numbered in the 122XXX range (1854), and matching except for the cylinder, which some previous owner (obviously some what of a nefarious rascal) thought to obliterate any number that was mismatched, and so only one “matching” digit now remains intact! It does have decent smooth metal, fair markings (the barrel address is a bit weak, as are a couple of the serial numbers), and a smooth even thin grey-brown patina with just light scattered pitting. VG grips, and for a modest collection of Colt percussions, the 3” Pocket without rammer is a scarcity that is rarely affordable to anyone other than the “deep pocketed” collector. This one is VERY affordable at just $1495
