#4852 Merwin & Hulbert (Hopkins & Allen Manufacture) Closed Frame S/A , 3-5/16” barrel, 44WCF

Description

#4852 Merwin & Hulbert (Hopkins & Allen Manufacture) Closed Frame S/A , 3-5/16” barrel, 44WCF with about a “7” bore and VG++ action, standard style cylinder flutes and thus known as the “Pocket Army” Model. Produced between 1878-1882, these large frontier revolvers were produced for M&H …and were by far the best guns ever produced by the very prolific H&A Mfg Co, a company better known for their cheap pocket revolvers. Bird-head style butt with original handsome pearl grips and the aptly named “skull-crusher” style lanyard extention. About 55-60% flaking original nickel finish mixing with dark grey-brown and some light scattered freckle pitting here and there. Unusual and novel “twist and pull” action is always a conversation piece for gun collectors. About VG++/Fine as described. $2395
