#4999 Colt 1878 D/A 4”x44WCF Sheriffs Model c,1882

Description

#4999 Colt 1878 D/A 4”x44WCF, extremely scarce factory Sheriffs Model a with Fine bore (about a 8 on a scale of 10), fine smooth action both on S/A and D/A modes, 8XXX serial range and thus being made in 1882. Original factory blue has thinned to about 15-20% density and coverage, mixing with smooth brown metal. The very desirable “CFSS” etched barrel panel is fully visible and 90% intact. The original checkered wood grips are near VG+ except for having a slight wear and some light nicks and dings (see photos). Made without the lanyard ring which is correct for this Sheriffs Model configuration. A very, VERY decent, scarce, and early big frame double action Colt in well above average condition. $4295
